MasterChef Australia announces premiere date for season 13 – and fans are beside themselves

MasterChef Australia fans can rejoice as the hit cooking show will return to screens on April 20.

The announcement was made by the Channel 10 program’s social media platforms on Wednesday.

The accompanying promo photo for the upcoming season 13 featured judges Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo and Melissa Leong.

‘The date is set!’ the caption read, as it noted the 7.30pm start time for the premiere evening.

Excited fans shared their delight at the cooking show’s return, including one who commented on Instagram: ‘Yaaassss!!!! I can’t wait for this!’

Another wrote: ‘Yess… the time of the year I look forward to the most!!! Can’t wait!’

Among them was a new cook – named Minoli – who told the judges: ‘I just want to spend all my effort that I put into my career, into food. I want this so, so badly. 

Restaurant manager and fusion-cooking enthusiast Conor is also introduced and described himself as a ‘Greek gay boy with a mullet’ reveals his cooking style as ‘very Greek, with heaps of south-east Asian ingredients.’
