Radio presenter Kyle Sandilands has spoken of his heartbreak following his short-lived marriage to pop star Tamara Jaber.
The KIIS FM host, 49, was married to the Scandal’us singer, 38, from 2008 to 2010.
He told the No Filter podcast this week he was ‘devastated’ by the pair’s divorce and distracted himself by partying in LA for six months.

‘I had my heart broken,’ said Kyle, who is now dating his business partner Tegan Kynaston, 35.
‘I was devastated. I ran away and lived in America in a hotel for six months and did the [radio] show from America.’
Kyle admitted he handled the split ‘pretty immaturely’ by running away to the U.S. and ‘shutting everyone out’.

But he thought he had no choice but to leave Sydney because he ‘felt like a bit of a failure from the marriage not working out’.
Elsewhere in his interview, Kyle revealed that it’s important for him to make sure his former partners are taken care of financially.
‘I want to make sure they’re okay mentally, physically, financially, and they deserve it, too,’ he explained.

‘Ex-wives, my other ex-partners, they’re able to be, and they should be, looked after and treated with respect.’

He explained most of the budget was spent on changing the floor plan of the wedding venue, Doltone House in Pyrmont.
Kyle also hired the crew from Australian Idol to film the lavish affair.
‘Doltone House, like, it’s just a big hall,’ he explained.
‘I had to change the floor plan so you’d walk downstairs. There were, like, stages built and the [Australian] Idol live crew filmed the wedding video.’

Kyle married Tamara in September 2008, but they separated in July 2010.

‘I can’t believe I’m such good content 10 years on. I do find it amusing. I’m going to call it flattering because I haven’t spoken to him in years,’ she told Woman’s Day.
Tamara, who is engaged to San Francisco lawyer Eduardo Roy, added: ‘I never date men like Kyle. I date more reserved people.’
