Influencer branded a ‘hypocrite’ for asking basic questions about New Zealand on Instagram – after filming a condescending video mocking people who are too lazy to use Google

Jadé Tuncdoruk has discovered the perils of online fame, after a regrettable video of the influencer mocking people who are ‘too lazy to use Google‘ resurfaced on Instagram this week.

The model landed herself in hot water on Wednesday when she uploaded a post asking fans for advice about where to travel in New Zealand

The post, which was inspired by news of Australia’s trans-Tasman COVID travel bubble read: ‘Must-visit spots in NZ? And best places to ski in NZ?’

Have you tried Googling it? Instagram influencer Jadé Tuncdoruk was branded a ‘hypocrite’ by Celeb Spellcheck on Wednesday for asking basic questions about New Zealand on Instagram – after filming a condescending video mocking people who are too lazy to use Google

However, Notorious ‘snark’ account Celeb Spellcheck quickly re-shared the influencer’s post alongside a throwback video of Jadé complaining about receiving asinine questions from fans.

In the video, Jadé condescending tells her followers that it has ‘come to her attention’ that people have ‘forgotten how to use Google’.

‘I just wanted to do this little public service announcement to remind you guys that Google is a super handy tool. It’s just got all this information on it that you can look stuff up on,’ she said in a patronising tone.

‘I personally love it, I think it’s really great. This isn’t sponsored or anything. I just wanted to remind you guys that Google is there for like, simple questions and information and stuff,’ she continued.

‘So yeah, you should just, like, give it a go or something, sometime, instead of sending heaps of DMs about really basic things.’

Celeb Spellcheck drew attention to the apparent hypocrisy of Jadé asking for information on travelling and skiing in New Zealand (things that are easily found on Google), and mockingly captioned its post: ‘Mount Hypocrite’.

Looking for a freebee? The account also suggested that, by asking for 'recommendations', Jadé was subtly calling out to potential sponsors for a free trip to New Zealand

Asking fans to ‘recommend’ products and services is a widely known trick used by Instagram models to attract ‘collaborators’ who offer freebees in exchange for online endorsements.

‘Call me a sceptic but I reckon she’s asking for a free trip not recommendations,’ Celeb Spellcheck wrote in a comment.
