Emmerdale SPOILER: Kim collapses during a drama-filled week in the Dales

Emmerdale has an explosive week ahead, as Kim Tate’s health takes a turn for the worse, Matty Barton ponders a life-altering surgery and Ethan Anderson confides in Victoria Barton about his long-lost mother.  

After confronting Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) and Gabby Tomas (Rosie Bentham) on a forthcoming episode of the ITV show, Kim, played by Claire King, collapses on the floor and lies unconscious. 

An unassuming Lydia Dingle, played by Karen Blick, finds her passed out the morning after when she arrives for work. 

However, once Kim regains consciousness, she refuses to seek help, as she tries to avoid discovering if she is possibly terminally ill, leaving Karen concerned for her health.  

Elsewhere in the Yorkshire village, Matty, portrayed by Ash Palmisciano opens up to his mother Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) about his upcoming consultation and assessment for gender affirmation surgery, as he hopes to get on a waiting list for the operation. 

Almost two years prior, the transgender man underwent successful top surgery and hopes to continue his transition with bottom surgery. 

His mother remains fully supportive of her son, but she starts to raise concerns following the virtual consultation, fearing he is eager to complete the procedure to please his girlfriend Amy Wyatt. 

Meanwhile Ethan, played by Emile John, contemplates reaching out to his mother through medical records, after she abandoned him as a child. 

The Dales resident spent the majority of his childhood without his mother, after she left the family home when he was three-years-old and never returned.  

While opening up to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) about his absent mother, she encourages him to reconnect with her.

Later in the week, Meena Jutla, portayed by Paige Sandhu, discovers Ethan’s situation and provides a surprising update.  

Actor Emile recently told Digital Spy of his character: ‘Ethan regarded Saira as his own mother. 

‘With the absence of his own biological mother, it’s a relationship he didn’t take for granted, even as a young boy. He was devastated when she disappeared.’
