Mom star Allison Janney, 61, reveals she is ‘fine’ with not having children as she confirms she is single after splitting from Philip Joncas

Allison Janney recently revealed that she is happy with her personal life just the way it currently is.

The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actress appeared on Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show and spoke about how she was happy about focusing on her career and not on raising children with a significant other.

The talk show’s host broached the conversation by noting that she was single herself and asked if the I, Tonya actress was in the same situation.

No rush: Allison Janney revealed that she was fine with staying single and not having children during an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show

Janney shared she is single at the moment and expressed that she would have been interested in starting a family if she had met an ideal significant other.

‘I think if I’d found the right guy at the right time and wanted to have kids, I probably would have with the right partner,’ she said.

The American Beauty actress then noted that she had previously decided that becoming a mother would mean taking on a new set of responsibilities and that she did not want to do something that she was not wholly committed to.

She remarked, ‘I wasn’t ever really confident that I wanted to have kids, and I would rather regret not having kids than have kids and regret it.’

Janney concluded that she was happy with her personal life and that, although she was keeping her options open about her future, she was content with staying single.

‘I really am at this time in my life getting to know who I am and what I want. So I’d love to eventually find someone to share my life with, but if it doesn’t happen, I think I’ll be just fine,’ she expressed.

The Mom star then lightheartedly related that she had ben ‘virtually dating’ over the past few months and asked Barrymore if she had a ‘virtual crush’ on anyone.

The actress was previously romantically linked to computer programmer Dennis Gagomiros, although the two broke up in 2001.
