Meet the rumoured cast of Married At First Sight’s ‘celebrity spinoff series’ – as insider claims stars are ‘lining up’ to be cast on the show

Channel Nine is rumoured to be cooking up a spinoff series of Married At First Sight exclusively featuring celebrity participants.

And according to New Idea magazine on Monday, producers already have a list of celebrities they hope to cast on the rumoured new format.

The names include Richard Reid, Yvie Jones, Ash Williams, Tully Smyth, Harry T and Paulini Curuenavuli who have been ‘mentioned’ by casting directors.

A anonymous producer for Endemol told the magazine it was important to ‘change things up’ for the show.

‘If we want the show to keep going, and change things up,’ they told the publication.

The show will reportedly rival ratings juggernaut Celebrity Big Brother – which is currently in production by Channel Seven.

The insider added celebrities have been lining-up for a career boost due to the show’s popularity.

‘The truth is, the show has made some of the participants household names, and now some household names need a career boost,’ they said.

‘That’s the MAFS machine.’

Last year, NW magazine published texts which looked to be from expert John Aiken which appeared to confirm a celebrity season.

John supposedly said that producers were nutting out the idea.

‘We are trying to figure out if we want celebrity marrying a celebrity for the season or celebrities paired up with strangers on the outside,’ the text read.

Rumours: 'Leaked texts' sent by relationship expert John Aitken (pictured) reportedly showed him talking about the idea of a celebrity spin-off last year, according to a report in NW magazine

He continued: ‘We will have a video call tomorrow morning to discuss agreements further and I’ll let you know the other celebrity names who are currently on board.’

The texts were taken to mean a number of former contestants could be returning to the show for a second marriage.

The show did bring back Elizabeth Sobinoff which appeared to be a casting win for the series in previous seasons.
