Jake Edwards and Rebecca Zemek are all smiles as they step out for a rare date night in Sydney

Jake Edwards was recently praised for standing up for his wife, Rebecca Zemek, during a heated confrontation with Bryce Ruthven on Married At First Sight. 

And just days after the 32-year-old defended his bride, the newlyweds were spotted enjoying a date night out in Sydney during a break from filming in mid-November.

Rebecca, 27, couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she joined her ‘husband’ for a rare outing together.

The Perth-based beauty looked sensational in a long sleeved crop top paired with denim jeans.

Rebecca wore her long balayage tresses out in carefully-sculpted curls and accessorised her look with a pair of transparent sandals and a black handbag.  

Meanwhile. Jake opted for comfort in a black T-shirt, jeans and a matching bomber jacket. 

The charity CEO completed his look with a pair of Nike Air Jordan boots.

The sighting comes just days after the hunky groom was praised by fans after he confronted his co-star Bryce Ruthven during a fiery on-screen row.

Jake was left furious during last week’s couple’s retreat when Bryce stood up and began shouting at Rebecca at the dinner table.  

‘Don’t stand up and deliver a message to someone who’s sitting down,’ Jake yelled, standing up from his own seat at the table.

He continued: ‘Sit down! Mate, don’t do it. Sit down.’

Viewers were impressed with Jake taking charge of the situation, with many flocking to Twitter including one who wrote, ‘Jake calling out his sh*t! I love it’
