Chrissy Teigen’s daughter Luna, 4, ‘mourns late baby brother Jack’ every day

Chrissy Teigen’s four-year-old daughter Luna continues to mourn her baby brother Jack ‘every day’ following his heartbreaking stillbirth in September.

The model, 35, and her 42-year-old husband John Legend were left devastated when their third child passed away during his mother’s 20th week of pregnancy.

And her mother Vilailuck, known affectionately as Pepper, has revealed that the family have kept tragic little Jack’s memory alive by talking about him daily.

Pepper, 59, told WSJ Magazine: ‘Luna talks about him every day, and that’s how we grieve. We talk about him every day. That’s how we grieve. We’re getting better each day.… We’re getting so much better, and Chrissy too.’

Announcing the upcoming release of her new book, The Pepper Thai Cookbook: Family Recipes from Everyone’s Favorite Thai Mom, Pepper revealed that she has dedicated the book to her grandson Jack.

Pepper, who lives in Beverly Hills with her daughter and son-in-law, helps care for the couple’s children, daughter Luna, four, and son Miles, two.

Chrissy and John had revealed the loss of their third child in early October when they shared a series of heartbreaking photos from the hospital.

Doctors had diagnosed the TV personality with partial placental abruption – where the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus causing the baby’s airflow to be blocked or limited.

Her body was no longer able to sustain the pregnancy and despite ‘bags and bags of transfusion’, doctors couldn’t halt the bleeding.

All Of Me singer John told the Times T2 magazine last year that he admires his wife even more now because of the bravery she showed in her decision, despite feeling ‘nervous’ to take the images at the time.

Chrissy later revealed she asked John to take the ‘uncomfortable’ pictures because she ‘needed to know the moment forever’ and admitted she knew that he ‘hated doing it’.

Speaking to the publication, John said: ‘I was nervous when we were taking pictures in the hospital because emotionally I didn’t know if I could handle looking at them.

‘But I really do believe that it was good for Chrissy to share her story with people.’

John took some of the images shared in their social media posts, one of which shows Chrissy sobbing while sitting in her hospital bed. While another captures the devastated spouses cradling their baby’s body.

John revealed that since Chrissy shared their experience they have received an overwhelming reaction from people who have been through the same thing.

He said: ‘Her being willing to share has opened up the conversation and made people feel they are not alone. It made me admire her even more because of the bravery she showed.’

John also admitted that it serves as a reminder that although the family appear to lead the ‘perfect’ life, they are very much human and experience loss and tragedy.

At the time, Chrissy captioned the images taken by John: ‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

‘We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

‘We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital.

‘But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

‘To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.

‘Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.

‘We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience.

‘But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.’
