The 2021 Screen Actors Guild Awards became a virtual ceremony for the first time ever due to the Covid pandemic, meaning celebrity honourees spent the night at home.
And the stars of the silver screen certainly made the most of being among their creature comforts on Sunday afternoon, with virtual guests running amok in their gardens and even getting into bed for the ceremony.
Another highlight of shooting the one-hour ceremony at home was that there was no need to stick around and make any small talk after missing out on an award, as demonstrated by Kaley Cuoco.
The 35-year-old actress was nominated for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her lead role on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, yet lost out to Catherine O’Hara in Schitt’s Creek.
Not one to dwell on the loss, Kaley was quick to jump back into bed after logging out from the ceremony, sharing a video of herself downing drinks while tucked up in bed.
In a nod to Catherine’s victory, the Big Bang Theory actress could then be seen tuning into an episode of Schitt’s Creek in the clip, which she captioned: ‘Goodnight and thank you @sagawards !
‘Wow am I grateful to be a freakin actor. Now to continue binging my favorite show [sic]’.

The SAG nominee didn’t spend too long commiserating, however, as she was quick to change out of her stunning Prabal Gurung gown and into something a little more comfortable.
Snapping a picture grimacing in an oversized nightgown, she penned: ‘Ending my night the way I always do. In my strange sleepshirt lol.’
The blonde beauty also rejoiced in the fact the virtual ceremony had allowed her to bring a plus one that would otherwise not have been allowed on the red carpet – her beloved pet pooch.

Also making the most of the at-home ceremony was Kerry Washington, who was nominated for Best Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her role in Little Fires Everywhere.
Although she lost out to the star of The Queen’s Gambit Anya Taylor-Joy, she will have no doubt been more preoccupied with toweling herself down after jumping in her pool fully-clothed.
The actress went with an aquatic theme for her at-home gown, wowing in a custom blue Etro gown with matching Esther Williams-style swim cap.
Kerry‘s dress featured a sweetheart neckline and low back, with beautiful circular beaded patterns throughout, while her scalloped swim cap picked up the same pattern.

The Bronx, New York-born actress, 44, stunned in the garment for a photoshoot in her sprawling garden before taking a plunge into the swimming pool.
Sharing snaps from the water, she penned: ‘#SAGAwards are going swimmingly…#MermaidVibesAlways’.
She later uploaded a shot in her gown taken before it was given a soaking, alongside the caption: ‘Grateful to the #SAGAwards for giving me a reason to get dressed up. You gotta ditch the sweats when you’re surrounded by all the BEAUTY & BRILLIANCE in this category.
‘Sooooooooo honored to be nominated for #LittleFiresEverywhere among you ladies, #MichaelaCoel, @anyataylorjoy, @nicolekidman & #CateBlanchett’.

Another star breaking the rules but in a less messy fashion was Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire, who shared snaps of herself jumping on the bed – and with her shoes on no less.
The actress shunned the glamorous gowns typically expected for such a ceremony in favour of an adrogynous look that channelled the style of her character, Stevie.
The brunette beauty opted for something totally different as she donned an oversized cream Polo Ralph Lauren linen suit with rolled up cuffs.

The 39-year-old actress offset it with a black tie, black beret and high top Converse sneakers with the laces undone, and later teamed the outfit with thick rimmed black glasses.
Quite literally jumping for joy after their Netflix series picked up two awards on the night, she shared pictures leaping on the cream bedsheets.
She shared a throwback snap from the 2020 ceremony where she had wowed in a J Mendal gown, penning: ‘How it started’, compared with a snap in her suit that she captioned, ‘How it’s going (still pretty into it)’.
The actress also quipped that she had swapped the red carpet for the bed carpet with her look.
