Charlotte Dawson says her late father Les is ‘always there’

Charlotte Dawson has emotionally said that her late father Les is ‘always there’ and she can ‘feel him’ watching over her family.

Speaking in a new candid interview, the reality star, 28, also admitted that it was ‘painful’ to know that her baby son Noah will never meet his grandfather.

Charlotte tragically lost her father when she was just eight-months-old. Les passed away from a heart attack in 1993 aged just 62.

The TV star admitted that her grief has got ‘harder’ since welcoming her first child, Noah, in January with fiancé Matt Sarsfield, as Noah will never know Les.

Talking to the Mirror, Charlotte said: ‘It’s been hard, life without my dad. But now that I’ve got a little baby, it’s become even harder because Noah is his grandson and it’s just painful to know that they will never get to know one another.’

She added: ‘He’s definitely all around us though, I can feel him around us. And I feel like when Noah pulls certain faces, he looks just like my dad, which is so lovely to me. It’s like a comfort, and he’s definitely a character like his granddad.’

Talking about some of the ‘signs’ she has received from her later father, Charlotte said that he was ‘definitely’ in the labour room and helping her ‘through it all’.

She added: ‘I honestly do just feel him all around us. I know he’s always there and is watching over us and looking out for us all the time. Noah has the same star sign as my dad and he was born exactly a week before dad’s birthday.’

It comes after Charlotte shared a sweet throwback snap of herself as a baby cuddled up to her late father Les on Instagram last month.

The Ex On The Beach star admitted she was feeling ’emotional’ as she described how her son Noah looks identical to what she looked like as a newborn.

The sweet childhood photo captured Les fast asleep with little Charlotte nestled in his arms.

Charlotte wrote: ‘This picture is so weird, so amazing but it could be Noah with my dad.. but it’s me. It looks like Noah & that is our like identical bedding we have now….

‘I can’t cope. Filming today about my dad & finding things out about him I didn’t know, has made me so emotional…’

The television personality had earlier taken to her Instagram stories to reveal she was filming her show all about ‘my daddy’.

In February, Charlotte took her son Noah to see her father’s bronze statue in Lancashire. The statue was erected in 2008 to honour his legacy.

The television personality documented the emotional moment on Instagram as she held her baby boy up beside his Grandfather Les’s face.

She captioned the Instagram post: ‘What a special day today has been… when Noah met his grandad Les ✨ (well his statue obvs) but this is the start of Noah’s traditions..

‘As you all know I go to my dads statue for special celebrations & I have our beautiful little baba boyo joining us now. How amazing…

‘I wish he was here so badly, he would of been the best grandad to you… but we are so lucky Noah has so much incredible footage for him to get to know his bloody belter of grandad ❤️

‘Thank you @tracydawsonx for being the best mum in the world… Noah’s lucky to have his glam nanny trace around ✨  ‘.

And Charlotte vowed to teach her baby boy about her late father Les’ memory in a moving clip from MTV’s Celebrity Bumps.

During the video, the reality star broke down in tears as she realised her son will never meet his late grandfather.

In the clip – filmed while Charlotte was still pregnant with her first child – the Ex On The Beach star spoke to her mum Tracy about her life with the late comic, who died in 1993.

In the clip, Charlotte, who was 27 weeks pregnant at the time, paid a visit to her mum Tracy to look at photos of her dad Les, so she can replicate them with her baby son.

The star also revealed she was going to tell Tracy the name she’d chosen for her baby boy as she counted down to the arrival of her bundle of joy with fiancé Matthew.

She announced: ‘We’re going to call him Noah Dawson Sarsfield.

‘The reason why we’re calling him Noah, me and Matthew were drunk four years ago, put the Notebook on you know that really romantic film. And he cried and I thought, “Matthew’s The One”.

‘And then the guy was called Noah on it, and I said “I love that name,” and he said ”me too.” And he said ”if we ever have a little boy let’s call him Noah.” We’ve never gone off it.’

Charlotte’s mum said her dad Les would be ‘so proud’ of his daughter, with the reality star adding in a candid confessional: ‘I am so grateful for my mum because she’s just kept his memory alive so much.’
