Sharon Stone has revealed that she no longer has an agent – and may be giving up acting for good.
In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, the Hollywood superstar, 63, claimed her age and ‘difficult’ reputation have left her struggling to find work.
‘I’ve been let go,’ she told the paper on Friday.

The Basic Instinct star believed the reason for the severance was, ‘That I’m really hard to cast and there aren’t roles for people my age. And, of course, I’m somewhat difficult.’
The Academy Award nominee said she may not find a new agent at this stage in her career.
‘Maybe I won’t. Maybe this is it,’ she told the paper, adding that she may quit acting for good.

‘I really very much enjoyed being Sharon Stone. It was a great front. But I am enjoying being myself more.
‘You don’t like her? She’s difficult? You’re sick of her? Great. Throw her in the trash. I don’t care. I’m done with her too,’ she said.
In her recently released memoir The Beauty of Living Twice, Sharon admits she was opinionated and stood up to the men who ran Hollywood throughout her career, only to be labelled as difficult.

‘I think I liked to have control of people’s minds, and it was so easy to get them off their rockers.’
Also in her memoir, Sharon described how she slapped her director Paul Verhoeven in fury after seeing the infamous leg-crossing and uncrossing moment in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct.

She walked out of a preview of the lurid drama after discovering his assurances that her bare crotch wouldn’t show up on screen had been a lie and that the audience could — as she put it — ‘see all the way to Nebraska‘.
In her Radio 4 Women’s Hour and BBC Sounds interview this week, Sharon also chatted about the film industry giving her a label of a ‘difficult woman’, saying that it comes from her inability to lie.
She said: ‘What it really is, is that I don’t have the capacity to lie. And I think that people find that quite off putting.

‘I don’t know if that’s really grit, or just a compulsion. And I think people find that kind of shocking and unsettling.
‘And when I tell the truth, that can seem quite offensive, or the favourite Hollywood word – difficult.’
