Bindi Irwin’s newborn daughter has her first close encounter with crocs

Bindi Irwin’s daughter Grace Chandler has just turned one week old.

The the baby girl already had her first encounter with ‘Crocs’, as revealed in her uncle Robert Irwin’s Friday Instagram post on Friday.

In an apparent April Fool’s gag, Robert, grandmother Terri and father Chandler Powell all held pairs of Crocs footwear while posing with the infant. 

Robert captioned the post, ‘Grace’s first experience with Crocs!!!’ along with the hashtag ‘#AprilFools’. 

Meanwhile earlier this week, news broke of Grace Warrior’s big TV debut.

The infant will be the focus of a one-hour TV special for Animal Planet titled Crikey! It’s a Baby!

The special premieres next month, and follows the couple’s journey into parenthood, with the help of Bindi’s mother Terri and brother Robert.

The program will include footage of the moment Bindi, 22, and Chandler, 24, take their newborn girl back to Australia Zoo for the first time.

The lovebirds welcomed their daughter on March 25, which coincidentally was also their one-year wedding anniversary.

‘Happy first wedding anniversary to my sweetheart husband and day of birth to our beautiful daughter,’ Bindi wrote on Instagram, announcing the child’s arrival.

‘Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light.’

Grace is a popular name in both Bindi and Chandler’s families. ‘Warrior’ is inspired by Bindi’s late father Steve Irwin, who coined the term ‘wildlife warrior’.
