Police find little boy wandering the streets of Yorkshire town in his pyjamas sparking huge hunt to track down his parents

  • The little boy was found in his pyjamas in Goole, East Yorkshire, at around 2pm
  • Police have since identified the boy’s mother after launching an urgent appeal
  • The force earlier said he was safe and well and being looked after by officers


A huge hunt was sparked by police to track down a little boy’s parents after he was found wandering the streets of a town in Yorkshire today. 

The boy was discovered around the Boothferry and Pasture Road area of Goole, East Yorkshire, at around 2pm, said Humberside Police.

The force has since identified the little boy’s mother after launching an urgent appeal to reunite him with his parents.

Police earlier said he was safe and well and being looked after by officers.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: ‘We are very happy to report that the mother of the little boy found in Goole has been identified and they will be reunited shortly.

‘All the necessary welfare, health and safeguarding checks will be done to ensure everyone is safe and well.

‘Thank you for sharing our appeal – together we help keep people safe.’  

In a previous statement made before identifying his mother, the force said: ‘He is safe and well and being looked after by officers but we urgently need to find where he lives and that his parents or carers are safe and well.

‘If you recognises him, know his parents or carers please get in touch with us.

‘You can call us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 276 of 01/04/2021.’
