Jonathan’s driver received a warning from a Covid marshal after the rule break, who told onlookers that although he had no power to ask anyone to leave the shop, he would be reporting the issue to Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

Covid marshals do not have powers but advise and support the public and businesses on following social distancing rules, in a bid to take some pressure off police and council officers.

After leaving rehearsals, Jonathan was pictured sitting in the back of the car without a mask on as he spoke with the driver and ate a sandwich.

MailOnline has contacted Jonathan’s representatives for comment.

While rehearsals are in full swing, filming has not yet begun on season two of Bridgerton.

Jonathan will take a leading role in the second season, which is expected to follow the love story between his character Anthony Bridgerton and newcomer Kate Sharma [Simone Ashley].

The first season followed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market.

The first season wrapped filming in February last year, mere days before production had to be abandoned across the industry because of the coronavirus pandemic.

There has been concerns to how the second season would work with Covid regulations, with Phoebe saying she couldn’t imagine it going ahead before the cast and crew were vaccinated.

She told Deadline in January: ‘I can’t imagine how it would be possible to film under these circumstances.

‘There are so many extras and so many crew members and it’s a very intimate show.

It just baffles me how we would film it under COVID rules unless there was a vaccine beforehand.’

The racy period drama was renewed by Netflix in mid-January, after the show, from creator Chris Van Dusen and executive producer Shonda Rhimes, exploded in popularity.
