Amanda Seyfried unleashes sinister past of her family home for thriller Things Heard & Seen

The official trailer for the upcoming Netflix film Things Heard And Seen was released on the streaming service’s YouTube channel on Thursday.

The film, which stars Amanda Seyfried, centers around her character as she unleashes the sinister past of her family home.

The supernatural thriller was co-directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini and based on the 2017 novel All Things Cease To Appear by Elizabeth Brundage.

Big reveal: On Thursday, the official trailer for the upcoming horror-thriller Things Heard & Seen was posted to Netflix’s YouTube account

The trailer begins with Seyfried, who portrays Catherine Clare, working on a painting in a church when she is suddenly interrupted by her husband George, played by James Norton.

Her spouse mentions that he has ‘found the perfect house for us,’ before the scene changes to a going-away party, where Seyfried’s character expresses that she is unsure about the move but is willing to try for her husband.

The couple then takes up residence in a large house in upstate New York, and after a realtor notes that the place needs work, George forebodingly mentions that the ‘bones’ of the house are something to behold.

A series of shots are played in which the two are shown to have added a daughter to their family, and the pair are seen embracing in the house’s barn, with Catherine telling her husband, ‘I love it so much!’

Moving out: The trailer begins with the couple leaving New York City to move to an old house in the upper portion of the state

After a tender moment is shown where the couple refers to each other as ‘exceptional,’ Seyfried’s character comes across an old book and finds a page that reads ‘damned,’ which she reacts to with interest.

The next morning, Catherine visits the town’s historical society and asks for information about the ‘older homes in the area,’ intending to find out more about the mystery she has just happened upon.

George is then shown at the local public library, where he shares a look of interest with Willis, portrayed by Natalia Dyer, although he later asks to keep a tense moment between himself and Eddy Lucks, played by Alex Neustaedter, private.

Afterward, Catherine is suddenly awoken by a dark bird crashing into her bedroom window, and on the following day George pays a visit to Floyd DeBeers, the role of which was filled by F. Murray Abraham.
