The Drew Barrymore Magazine! Star announces the launch of her very own lifestyle publication

Drew Barrymore has announced the launch of her very own quarterly magazine, Drew.

The actress, 46, revealed her eponymous publication will be launching this June as she took to Instagram to share a slew of images of herself, old and new.   

‘We are launching a MAGAZINE!!!’ Drew announced Tuesday. ‘I’ve dreamed of this day since I was a little girl, lining my walls with tears from my favorite magazines to make wallpaper.

‘Our pilot issue of DREW, a special interest publication and collaboration with our partners at Bauer Media Group will hit newsstands in June!!

‘I can’t wait for you to see and enjoy what we have created for you. From beauty and food to human interest and travel (and a crossword puzzle yay!!!), every glossy page will include the people, places and things I love most … truly the best from me to you.’ 

The post contained several images of the E.T. actress as a young girl, posing inside her bedroom decorated with magazine clippings.

She also shared a more recent snap of herself, pouring over paperwork with various magazines scattered on the floor.

Drew has already been working on the publication for around two years, and will serve as the magazine’s editor-in-chief, according to WWD.

The lifestyle publication will focus on a variety of uplifting topics, including feel-good stories, inspirational people, travel, food, cooking, beauty and lifestyle.

‘I call our show optimism TV. This is an optimism magazine,’ Drew told WWD.

Making a magazine has been a lifelong dream for Drew.

‘I’ve lined my walls with magazine tear sheets since I was like 10 years old,’ she told WWD of her desire to start a magazine.

‘I have a picture of myself in my bedroom and it’s like floor to ceiling and wall to wall. I’ve always loved magazines because of the paper and the experience. Magazines are such a huge part of my life and they’re such a huge part of my inspiration for everything I do.’

Despite the magazine being named after her, it has not yet been decided if Drew will appear on every cover.

‘We certainly think [Drew] is our best cover, but we’re going into it more with a kind of listening to the audience,’ the president of Bauer Media, Steven Kotok, told WWD.

‘The reader will always decide. Clearly she should be on the first cover and we’ll figure it out from there. When you overconceive it, that’s the only way to screw it up.’

The lifestyle magazine is a collaboration between Drew and Bauer Media Group and will be available exclusively at Walmart starting June 14 for $9.99.

The magazine marks Drew’s latest venture outside of acting. 

Drew’s talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show, was recently given the green light for a second season after enjoying a noticeable ratings bump at the start of the year, according to The Hollywood Reporter
