MAFS’ Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson look downcast as they take a break from filming – after THAT commitment ceremony blindside

Married At First Sight star Bryce Ruthven, 31, and Melissa Rawson, 31, are known for their tumultuous on-screen relationship.

And the couple looked rather tense behind-the-scenes in photos taken during filming late last year.

Bryce and Melissa were spotted coming back from a shopping spree in Sydney’s CBD last October as they filmed the show.

Melissa looked sombre as she strolled next to Bryce with her head down while holding a number of shopping bags.

Bryce, meanwhile, maintained a stoney expression as he strolled next to his TV bride with several shopping bags in one hand.

Melissa was seen wearing a stylish leather jacket along with a pair of blue skinny leg jeans and ballet flats.

Bryce opted for a pair of blue ripped jeans, a white T-shirt and a long cream coat. He finished his outfit with a pair of thongs.

It comes amid rumours the couple are planning to tie the knot in real life.

According to an article in New Idea magazine on Monday, a ‘friend’ of the pair said their off-screen engagement was ‘imminent’.

‘It’s clear that they are very much in love and are happy,’ an anonymous ‘source’ told the publication.

The ‘friend’ said their engagement announcement will come after the show comes to an end next month.

The publication reported that Bryce and Mel have ‘completely won over’ their families, and Bryce is actually world’s away from his on-screen portrayal.

The report added that Bryce was interested in scoring a televised media deal for a wedding similar to Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant.

The new report comes after radio host Bryce left fans in shock when he changed his mind about whether or not he wanted to stay with Melissa during Sunday’s commitment ceremony.

After Melissa revealed her decision to ‘stay’, the whole room stood silent as Bryce looked disgruntled and awkward at the prospect of unveiling his decision.

He opened his card, saying: ‘I actually decided to leave. But then I crossed it out.’

‘It was tough,’ Bryce continued. ‘It was hurting me to write it down. But I got to a point that… I had to cross it out and put stay, because I’m not done with this relationship.’

Trying to explain his decision, Bryce blurted out: ‘Me writing leave was to get her out of a toxic environment.’
