Elsa took to Instagram in mid February to reveal she had given birth as she posted a candid picture of her newborn laying on her beau’s chest.

Elsa revealed she and Danish entrepreneur Tom welcomed a baby girl and had sweetly named her after ‘two strong women’ in the family, calling their daughter Tuulikki Joan.

In a heartfelt statement she penned: ‘Happiest day of my life meeting you. Proudest moment in my life giving birth to you.

‘Named after two strong women, my mom and my grandma-in-law, you came into this world like super-woman with your fist next to your face.

‘We will love you forever, baby Tuuli’.

The supermodel also spoke about her ‘stronger and beautiful’ changing pregnancy body and joked that she currently does zero training to maintain her model figure.

Taking to her Instagram, Elsa asked her fans to ask her anything, with her 6.4M followers enquiring about a variety of subjects including her pregnancy, her haircare regime and modelling career.

‘I struggle at times too… the other day I felt so sad I cried all day. Then I was back to normal.

‘I think knowing you are not alone and actively taking steps to get out of your head is one of the most effective ways to feel better.

‘Some days it’s super hard but some days you have the power to swing your mood around and taking action by doing the opposite of what your head is telling you.’

Among the questions asked was how the model coped with controlling her anxiety, with the follower adding that they were struggling at the moment.

Elsa compassionately responded with a long, heartfelt reply in which she opened up about her own struggles.

She continued: ‘Opposite action!! Like if my head tells me not to get up from bed cause I feel overwhelmed, get up and get out of the house anyway! My head tells me to isolate – Call and meet up with someone and tell them how u feel!

‘My head tells me I’m not good enough – prove the voice wrong!’

Elsa has also previously detailed how although it’s been a tough year, she feels fortunate to have been able to enjoy her pregnancy without the added stress of work, as runway shows were shut down amid lockdown restrictions.

She said: ‘It’s been a tough year for so many to find something positive in this year. For me personally it’s been being able to be pregnant without working like I used to.

‘Not traveling at all has given us a chance to spend so much quality time together as a family and allows me to feel less stress about not missing work because of the pregnancy. So that’s been wonderful.’

Meanwhile, the star opened up about the pregnancy body after one fan asked: ‘Do you have doubts about the pregnancy thinking your body would get ruined?’

Alongside a stunning black and white snap of her growing baby bump, Elsa said: ‘I don’t believe the body gets ruined by pregnancy. I believe it gets stronger and more beautiful. It’s carried life!’
