Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd says he has an eating disorder as he slams vicious troll who claimed ‘he could do with a good feed’

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has said that he has an eating disorder as he slammed a vicious troll on Twitter who claimed he needed a ‘good feed’.

The actor, 33, best known for playing David Platt, called out a vile social media user in January who accused him of being ‘far too thin’.

The vicious troll had tweeted: ‘Wise up….he.looks like someone who could do with a good feed’, adding that Jack is ‘far too thin’ and that he ‘doesn’t look great’.

Responding to the vile social media user, Jack bravely shared details of his secret eating disorder and sarcastically thanked them for ‘being nice’.

He tweeted on 22 January: ‘I have an eating disorder. Thank you for being nice.’ 

To which one of Jack’s followers praised the actor for raising awareness and speaking out.

They put: ‘Well done on speaking out , however you shouldn’t have to explain yourself. Ppl to quick to judge to fat / to thin etc x.’

While a different account added: ‘Good on you for speaking out. I do too and you’ve inspired me to say it out loud.’

MailOnline has contacted Jack’s representative for further comment.

Jack has previously spoken about problems in his life and in September he revealed that he had undergone a second hair transplant after his thinning locks put a strain on his mental health.
