Courtney Stodden says it’s hypocritical Chrissy Teigen is leaving Twitter over negativity

Courtney Stodden questioned Chrissy Teigen’s recent exodus from Twitter citing a toxic environment, noting that Teigen bullied her on the platform when she was only 16.

The singer/model, 26, took to social media on Friday with a tweet Teigen sent in October of 2011 after her page was removed from Facebook.

Teigen wrote at the time: ‘Saying courtney stodden’s FB age got shut down for being too sexy is like saying the nazi’s were just meanies. As in, not quite.’

Stodden spoke out about her past with Teigen, 35, after the Sports Illustrated swimsuit alum on Wednesday said that she was leaving Twitter after a decade, due to the negative impact it has on her life

The model/cookbook author said on the site at the time of her departure: ‘For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends. But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.’

She told her followers, ‘My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don’t is just too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not.

‘My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters. Please know all I ever cared about was you!’

On Thursday Teigen, who is married to superstar singer John Legend, left an expanded statement to her 34.4 million Instagram followers about her decision to deactivate her account, which had more than 13.7 million followers.

‘It’s true! The platform no longer serves me as positively as it does negatively, so with that I bid you adieu,’ she said, noting that she was not blaming the platform, as they had been attentive and diligent in their work.

She continued: ‘It’s not the platform. It’s not the “bullying.” And it’s not the trolls. The trolls I can deal with, although it weighs on you. It’s just me.’

Teigen said that her decision to depart the social media site stemmed from her discomfort with people disliking her personally.

‘I have to come to terms with the fact some people aren’t gonna like me,’ she said. ‘I hate letting people down or upsetting people and I feel like I just did it over and over and over.

‘Someone can’t read that they disappointed you in some way every single day, all day without physically absorbing that energy. I can feel it in my bones.’
