Emma Willis and husband Matt reveal they have become coronavirus vaccine volunteers

Emma Willis and her husband Matt have revealed they are now both qualified coronavirus vaccine volunteers.

The couple signed up to St John’s Ambulance’ vaccination volunteer programme, finishing their training on Sunday.

The Voice UK presenter, 45, and the Busted singer, 37, both took to Instagram to share snaps of themselves in their medical gear to celebrate.

Emma wrote: ‘Today @mattjwillis and I spent the day finishing our training with @stjohn_ambulance to become part of their vaccination volunteer programme.

‘Thank you so much to the whole team who guided and taught us and for making it informative AND fun! What a brilliant bunch of good eggs. Bring on the first shift!!’

In his post, Matt added: ‘We did it… coming to a vaccination centre near you… thanks so much @stjohn_ambulance for all your incredible help and training..

‘It has been so challenging and rewarding already and we have only just begun… cannot wait for the first shift!’

Emma took to her Instagram Stories and shared another snap of the couple wearing PPE gear, including face shields.

The former Big Brother presenter also posted a photo of a manikin from her training and jokingly wrote: ‘Got a new mate’.

Matt previously revealed that while he won’t be administering vaccines himself, anyone getting the jab where he is volunteering will have his company for the process.

Speaking on Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast, he said: ‘I am signing up for the St John’s ambulance team.

‘I’m not allowed to administer vaccines because I don’t have two A Levels but I’m going to be helping people walk in and register on the computer.’

‘I have got f**k all else to do and I am sitting around. I’m feeling quite inadequate.’

Matt admitted he feels ‘f****d for the time-being’ as his career as a musician is on hold until live gigs can resume after lockdown.

He said: ‘There’s not a chance there’s going to be any gigs, any theatre, any plays going on for a long time.

‘So I am like, ‘right, what can I do?’ I am just going to do that for a little bit and see what happens. It’s only 16 hours a month, so very little commitment. I can do 16 hours a day, right now. Get me out the house!

They’re doing such an amazing thing. I said I am doing this, I got really carried away researching it. If you think about how many people in the UK need this vaccine and there are s**t loads of people on furlough sitting around with their thumbs up their a**e.

‘Believe me this is not a selfless act, I am doing this completely selfishly. I want my life back. I want to play shows, I want festivals to happen, I wanna hug my f*****g mates.

Matt also reckons he and fellow Busted bandmates Charlie Simpson and James Bourne will reunite at some point when lockdown ends.

He said: ‘J’s doing a solo record and Charlie is doing a solo record. I am being an unemployed self tape actor and a stay at home dad/teacher/hooverer. We’ve all moved on.

‘We are too busy for the band right now but it will definitely happen again. Busted is something we all absolutely love and we know what it is.

‘It’s a big part of my life and always will be.’
