Kiwi actor Julian Dennison reveals what it’s REALLY like to work alongside Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds after starring together in Deadpool 2

He starred alongside Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds as a mutant in Deadpool 2.

And almost three years on from playing the role of Russell in the Marvel film, Kiwi actor Julian Dennison has revealed what’s really like to work alongside the 44-year-old star.

Speaking to The West Live, the 18-year-old jokingly labelled him as being ‘very serious and boring,’ before going on to praise the Canadian actor.

‘I don’t know how he juggles his business, his crazy life and his family, but he does and he makes it work, it’s so cool working with him,’ he said.

Julian said Ryan showed him the ropes on set, saying: ‘I learned so much working with him… he’s a crazy dude, I love him.’

Julian, who hails from New Zealand, rose to fame by starring in Taika Waititi’s 2016 Hunt for the Wilderpeople as Rickey Baker.

He is also playing teenage outcast Josh Valentine in Godzilla vs. Kong, which is currently in theaters across the country.

‘The big blockbuster action film is where a lot of people want to break into,’ he told Stuff NZ on Friday.

I really loved doing this film, and it’s going to be a nice film to have under my belt. 

‘It’s going to be exciting – I feel confident that people will like it.’

In January, the actor appeared in a hilarious new advertisement for American fast-food franchise Subway as well.

He rapped to a remixed version of the famous theme song to 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 

Julian donned a green and yellow jacket and jeans, as he sang: ‘This is a story about how fast food got flipped turned upside down.’
