MAFS’ Jaimie Gardner takes a swipe at ex Chris Jensen after drug arrest

She’s the Bondi-based brand manager who was portrayed as a high maintenance princess on Married At First Sight.

But now Jaimie Gardner has hit back at her critics by taking a few cryptic swipes at the show and her TV ‘husband’ Chris Jensen.

The 35-year-old’s comments come after news broke that Chris was arrested on drugs charges prior to his appearance on the show.

Taking a stand: Married At First Sight’s Jaimie Gardner hit back at her haters by taking a few cryptic swipes at the show and her TV ‘husband’ Chris Jensen on Instagram

In a lengthy Instagram post, Jaimie appeared to take several subtle swipes at Chris after she was portrayed on MAFS as being too pretentious for the unrefined tradie.

‘I was raised by a tradie and he is a wonderful man,’ she wrote.

‘I don’t have a “type”. I’ve dated men with different appearances, careers and ambitions – it’s about finding a connection,’ she continued.

Shutting down her ‘princess’ title, Jaimie wrote: ‘In my close friendship circle of 4, I am the only girl. It’s princess by endearment not entitlement.’

The brand manager then apologised for her most damning scene, in which she appeared to be chastising Chris for not washing his hands after using the bathroom.

‘I do like clean hands,’ she said. ‘What started as a harmless joke, landed terribly and I’m not proud of my response.

‘I do love sarcastic humour and sometimes use it in inappropriate circumstances.’

She then denied asking her on-screen husband to ‘fake’ their relationship to stay on the show, which is how the demise of their marriage played out on TV.

‘I did not once ask anyone to “fake” anything,’ she said adamantly.

‘I did make a choice to put my needs and mental well-being before that of others.’

Jaimie finished by thanking fans for their support, before adding: ‘Remaining optimistic and true to myself has been a challenge through this.’
