Pregnant Sophie Rundle and husband Matt Stokoe live in isolation in spine-chilling trailer for horror film Rose: A Love Story

They are set to welcome their first child together in the coming weeks.

And Sophie Rundle and her husband Matt Stokoe teamed up to star in the chilling  horror film Rose: A Love Story.

The actress, 32, takes on the title role in the flick which follows a woman who is gripped by a strange illness and lives in seclusion with her husband.

The couple, who live in a remote woodland cabin, find their refuge is shattered by the arrival of a stranger.

In the trailer, Sophie’s character is seen living in isolation with her husband Sam and tells him: ‘You’re a good man, I’ll love you forever’.

Sam hints at a journey as he tells her: ‘No way am I gonna leave you on your own for two days.’

Rose encourages him to go, replying: ‘Please, I want you to.’

He asks: ‘What if something happens to you?’

In another scene, a woman is heard screaming for help before another character (played by Olive Gray) appears to ask Rose why she lives in seclusion.

She says: ‘It wouldn’t be your fault.Why do you live like this? The windows, the lights, the traps?’

Matt, who Sophie is rumoured to have married earlier this year, also wrote the screenplay for the film while Jennifer Sheridan served as director.

The British film premiered at last year’s BFI London Film Festival and received strong reviews. It was also nominated for the BIFA Raindance Discovery Award. 

Ann Walker actress Sophie is believed to currently be on maternity leave as filming for the historical BBC drama’s second series takes place in Yorkshire.

The thespian confirmed her pregnancy last month with images of herself holding her bump, shared to Instagram.

The couple were rumoured to have taken their relationship to the next level after they were seen wearing wedding bands in January.

Soon after their engagement in 2019, Sophie said: ‘The whole wedding thing is weird. Everyone expects you to be desperate to be a princess for the day – that’s not really my scene.’

Sophie and Matt, star of BBC period drama The Musketeers and Netflix series Cursed, have been together since 2016 after meeting on the set of Sky One drama Jamestown.
