Heartbreak for The Block’s Andy and Deb Saunders as their homewares store is devastated by the NSW floods

The Block’s Andy and Deb Saunders have shared confronting photos of their homewares store in Taree after it was inundated by the NSW floods.

They posted a gallery of images on Instagram on Tuesday showing their shop, The Shed Luxe, flooded with waist-deep water.

One of the photos taken from inside the shop shows items still on tables and shelves.

Another picture shows the devastating aftermath with mud across the floor, as well as stock and mannequins strewn all over the place.

In the caption, the season 15 Block stars thanked their friends and fans for their messages ‘of love and support’ during such a difficult time.

The couple had announced over the weekend they would be closing their business early to comply with evacuation orders in the area.

‘We had no idea that it would end up the way it did,’ they wrote.

‘The water took hold and filled the shop. Heavy fridges, lounges everything upturned and floating. Cars floating in our car park. So much mess!’

Thankfully, they noted, their family and friends were safe and they were now starting the process of cleaning up and drying out items.

Andy and Deb said they were fortunate compared to people who lost their homes and animals in the floods.

‘Our heart aches for every one of them. It’s scary how fast the water rises,’ they said.

The couple thanked their staff and family members who helped with the clean-up, as well as their landlord who assisted with moving their stock.

‘After droughts, fires, a pandemic and now floods all within the last two years we think Aussies have had enough and we reckon the whole country would agree,’ they added.
