He shared an emotional tribute to his late aunt on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, two years after she passed away.

And Married At First Sight star Johnny Balbuziente looked understandably downcast as he spent time with his family the same day. 

Johnny appeared to be leaving a pub with his brother Ross and father Paul in the Brisbane CBD.

The three men were spending quality time together after a no doubt difficult day.   

Johnny shared a selfie of his late aunt Zia on Wednesday, and wrote: ‘Forever young, forever beautiful. RIP – I love you x.’ 

His simple yet heartfelt post comes after he revealed to wife Kerry that his biggest regret was ‘not spending enough time’ with her before she passed.

On Tuesday’s episode of Married At First Sight, the theatre producer told his ‘wife’: ‘My biggest regret is definitely with my aunty, not spending enough time before she passed away.

‘My aunty was like my second mum. She passed away from cancer,’ his voice began to shake, while Kerry showed her support with words of encouragement.

‘She was told he had like two weeks left,’ he revealed.

‘And even while we were going to the hospital, as soon as you’d walk into her room, she’d be the first to get out of her bed – that she knew was going to pass away in – and made sure that you felt comfortable. 

‘And, um… it’s that memory that sticks in my head,’ he recalled.

‘I definitely regret not being able to spend more time with her because I lost someone that had such a powerful impact on me and my life,’ he added as Kerry embraced him.

Two years ago, Johnny also shared a beautiful and emotional tribute on the passing of his aunt after she lost her battle with cancer. 

He shared a lovely photo of them smiling and wrote: ‘My beautiful Zia, my 2nd mum – May you finally Rest In Peace.’

‘This woman is leaving such a massive hole in our lives, an energy that was so infectious it would fill the room instantly – the 2 most ever lasting things she taught me were to always be a fighter and a forgiver!’
