Kelly Clarkson says she cannot ‘imagine’ remarrying… amid bitter divorce from Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson has revealed that the idea of remarrying is the furthest thing from her mind amid her bitter divorce from Brandon Blackstock.

The 38-year-old made the revelation on The Kelly Clarkson Show while interviewing Gwyneth Paltrow who is on her second marriage.

During the chat Kelly brought up remarriage and said that ‘coming from someone who’s literally in the midst of divorce I can’t even imagine doing it again.’

Gwyneth married Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk in 2018 just two years after she finalized her divorce from her first husband Chris Martin of Coldplay fame.

Agreeing to tie the knot again was ‘probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done,’ she confessed to Kelly on the talk show.

Remarriage involved ‘probably allowing myself to learn the lessons that I needed to learn from my divorce and then being able to really kind of do that work on myself and then open myself up again.’

Gwyneth said that Brad ‘requires that kind of presence and intimacy and it was really hard for me. Like I wasn’t good at it before. I still struggle with it – but you will have it again, Kelly. It just takes time.’

Meanwhile Kelly shared that many divorced people have told her that ‘it’s almost like you start dating yourself again, like you actually make time for you again, and I love dating me! So I’m actually not looking for it.’

The singing star – who shares her children River, six, and Remington, four, with Brandon – also noted that divorce is ‘hardest on the kids’ citing her own experience being ‘from a divorced family twice over as a kid.’

Brandon and Kelly were married for seven years before she filed for divorce last June, and she has obtained primary custody of the children amid a battle over the issue.

‘Kelly’s offered to pay for all the kids’ expenses, but Brandon seems to think he is entitled to and needs $301K in spousal support and $135K in child support per month,’ a People source claimed last November.

‘Additionally, he’s already asked for $2M for attorney fees when he’s the one driving up the cost of the divorce with seven attorneys just representing him alone.’

The divorce has become increasingly nasty and Kelly is now alleging that Brandon and his company Starstruck Management defrauded her.

She called her agreement with the company a ‘fraudulent and subterfuge device’ in a filing to the California Labor Commission.

Kelly has also claimed they were not licensed to be her agents and accused them of ‘illegal services,’ according to documents obtained by OK! Magazine

Starstruck is owned by Brandon’s father Narvel Blackstock, who used to be married to Reba McEntire and is also named in Kelly’s filing.

The filing asks that ‘all agreements between the parties, should be declared void and unenforceable, no monies should be paid by [Clarkson] to [Starstruck Management and the Blackstocks], and all monies previously paid by [Clarkson] to [Starstruck Management and the Blackstocks] should be disgorged forthwith.’

Narvel has claimed Kelly owes Starstruck $1.4 million in commission, and sued her in October over the matter, according to OK!.

He also alleged that with her earnings from her talk-show and The Voice, Kelly will in the future owe a further $4 million to his company.

The labor petition conveniently ignores the fact that Kelly had her own licensed talent agency CAA at all times,’ Starstruck lawyer Bryan Freedman contended to TMZ after news broke of her California Labor Commission filing.

‘While Starstruck Management Group provided talent management services on her behalf, it did so at all times that CAA was her agency of record,’ he said.

‘It is unfortunate that Kelly is again attempting to avoid paying commissions that are due and owing to Starstruck to try and achieve some perceived advantage in her ongoing custody and divorce proceedings.’

Brandon filed legal documents in January denying the fraud allegations and insisting he does not owe Kelly any of the income he made working with her, per Us Weekly.

Starstruck also allege that their work was done outside California and argue that as a result the state’s Talent Agencies Act does not apply to them.

Kelly’s lawyer Ed McPherson shot back with a statement in Entertainment Tonight saying: ‘We stand by our allegations that Starstruck violated the Talent Agencies Act, despite their boilerplate denials, and we look forward to trying the case before the Labor Commissioner in August.’

They have remained amicable and Gwyneth is famously even friendly with Chris’ much younger girlfriend Dakota Johnson of Fifty Shades Of Grey fame.

Gwyneth told Kelly that ‘we made a commitment early on to be a family even though we weren’t a couple, which you know, sounds like weird and impossible.’

She explained that she and Chris ‘worked with a therapist who was amazing at helping us communicate’ in order to smooth the process of co-parenting.
