High spirits: Jamie Foxx was seen exiting Nobu Malibu in style on Wednesday following a celebratory dinner for his sixth NAACP Image Award

He completed the look with a black hoodie, tracksuit bottoms and Dior trainers as he departed the venue in a white Rolls Royce.

Jamie made sure to keep a low profile in a face mask and tinted shades while draping a bag over his shoulder.

It comes after the Oscar winner – who won for best character voice-over performance – made history with his role in Soul for being the first African-American lead in a Disney Pixar film last year.

‘Huge!!!! Thanks to the @naacpimageawards for the award for best character voice in an animated film!!!’ the actor wrote of his big NAACP Image Award victory on Instagram.

‘You deserve it dear! So so proud of you!’ his pal, Chelsea Heath, commented.

Actress Elise Neal also wrote: ‘Congratulations Jamie!!!! Changing the narrative.’

In December, Jamie told The Project it felt ‘amazing’ to be part of such a historical moment in movie-making, saying the world needed this ‘good, good news’ following the challenging year that has been 2021.

‘I don’t think that it’s just good enough to be first African-American, we had to turn it into something fantastic… and I believe that we did it. I’m so happy to be a part of it,’ the 53-year-old said of the new movie, Soul.

As host Lisa Wilkinson asked Jamie if the timing of the movie felt ‘just right’ because of the Black Lives Matter movement this year, he responded: ‘Oh my goodness, yes.’

He continued: ‘We’ve gone through so many challenges, and we give so much to the culture, so much to society, so when we are going through these terrible things, it is beautiful to have a light.’

In the movie, Jamie voices middle school music teacher Joe Gardner, who suffers a mysterious ‘soul-separating’ accident.

In the existential fantasy, Joe passes away – but instead of going to heaven, he ends up meeting a group of souls-in-training that help him find his way back to Earth to play a jazz gig at the Half Note Club.

The film already has a whopping 98 per cent score on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes, and aired exclusively on Disney Plus from Christmas Day.
