A spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told TMZ that Bieber, 27, had paid a brief visit to the facility to support faith-based programs.
The state prison houses around 3,158 inmates ranging from minimum to maximum security. No other information about Bieber’s visit has been made available.
Bieber as well as wife Hailey are among the high-profile celebrity members of evangelical Christian organization Churchome run by Judah and Chelsea Smith.
They were also active members of the megachurch group Hillsong until it became the subject of scandal, firing pastor Carl Lentz for ‘moral failures’ and his admitted infidelity.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: ‘One of the tracks on the album is called Unstable, and for me its a really emotional song because I was in a really, really bad place maybe a year ago.
‘Fortunately my wife was just there for me through it all and so the whole message of the song is ‘You loved me when I was unstable.’
Bieber added: ‘She really held me down and you know just continued to love me through a really challenging, hard season that I’d been in – so the person in the song that was me.’
