Jodie Foster and her wife Alexandra Hedison take their dog Ziggy for a walk in LA after Golden Globe winner was snubbed by Oscars

Veteran actress Jodie Foster received praise and a Golden Globe award for her role in The Mauritanian, accepting the award in the comfort of pajamas.

On Tuesday the 58-year-old Taxi Driver star was spotted strolling with her wife of seven years Alexandra Hedison and their adorable pooch Ziggy in Santa Monica.

The sighting comes after the two time Oscar winner was snubbed by the award show this year for her role in the Guantanamo Bay legal thriller.

Jodie opted for workout attire on their afternoon stroll as she sported black leggings and a gray long sleeve T-shirt with an athletic jacket tied around her waist.

She tucked her short blonde tresses underneath a baseball cap and kept herself protected in a blue face mask with a pair of sunglasses.

Hedison looked stylishly edgy in a pair of denim painter pants and a navy cashmere sweater as she held the reins on their dog.

The photographer had less qualms about full comfort than her wife as she walked in black boots, topping her look off with a distressed green cardigan and a scarf.

Award upset: Despite coming out victorious in the Best Supporting Actress Motion Picture category, Jodie was robbed of her chance at a third bronze statuette this year, in what many are calling an unthinkable upset

Hedison was by Foster’s side as she snagged the Globe for her role as defense attorney Nancy Hollander, the pair sharing a sweet smooch.

She had memorably first come out publicly as gay at the Golden Globes in 2013 when she was 51, subtly declaring she was ‘out and proud’ while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award.

‘I hope you’re not disappointed that there won’t be a big coming-out speech tonight, because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stone age,’ she said.

Despite feeling a lot freer and walking away victorious in the Best Supporting Actress Motion Picture category this year, Jodie was robbed of her chance at a third bronze statuette, in what many are calling an unthinkable upset.

The current Oscar nominees in the Best Supporting Actress category are Glenn Close (Hillbilly Elegy), Amanda Seyfried (Mank), breakout star Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm), Yug-jung Youn (Minari) and Olivia Coleman (The Father).

Foster’s last Oscar nomination came in 1995 for her role in Nell after snagging her two Best Actress awards in 1989 for The Accused, and in 1992 for Silence Of The Lambs.

Other surprising snubs this year included directors Regina King (One Night In Miami) and Aaron Sorkin (The Trial Of The Chicago 7), and the late Chadwick Boseman’s final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which many felt deserved a nod for Best Picture.

Despite Foster’s upset she has a lot of love in her life between Hedison and her two sons Kit and Charles, sharing both with former partner Cydney Bernard.

She had spoken of her approach to acting in 2018 in conversation with The Guardian as she said: ‘I was never interested in a career for a career’s sake. I just wanted to tell the stories I find interesting…I just worked when I found something that moved me.’
