The cast of Glee will be reuniting to honor their castmate Naya Rivera at the 2021 GLAAD Media Awards next month which will be eight months after her death from drowning last July.
The stars of the Fox musical series will be there to honor the 10-year anniversary of Rivera’s character, Santana Lopez, coming out as a lesbian.
Demi Lovato played Santana’s girlfriend on Glee, Dani, and will introduce the tribute at the awards ceremony on Thursday, April 8.

The recognition will highlight the character’s impact on LGBTQ teens and Latinx LGBTQ representation on television.
The tribute will feature Glee castmembers including Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Alex Newell, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, and Jenna Ushkowitz.
Rivera starred as Santana throughout the entire six season duration of the series from 2009 to 2015.
Lovato guest starred as Santana’s love-interest through four episodes in season five.

Rivera is thought to have drowned while she was swimming with her son Josey at Lake Piru back in July.
It’s believed that Rivera had jumped into the water to help Josey back onto their small rental pontoon boat, but was unable to get back onboard herself.
Josey, who was four years old at the time, was found sleeping and alone in the boat as it drifted that afternoon, with no sign of his mother. The child is living with his father and guardian, Rivera’s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey.
No doubt the GLAAD Awards will be a star studded affair as Katy Perry, Dan Levy, Jim Parsons, Bretman Rock, JoJo Siwa, Sam Smith, Matt Bomer, Laverne Cox, Sterling K. Brown, Clea DuVall, Nyle DiMarco, and Anthony Rapp are all set to make appearances.

RuPaul’s Drag Race alums and stars of HBO reality show We’re Here – Bob The Drag Queen, DJ ‘Shangela’ Pierce, and Eureka O’Hara – are also set to appear in addition to the cast of Veneno.
As if that wasn’t already enough star power Niecy Nash will be hosting the event which recognizes and honors various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
GLAAD is partnering with Google to exclusively premiere the ceremony on GLAAD’s YouTube on Thursday, April 8 at 8pm ET.
The event will also stream on Hulu on April 8 starting at 10pm ET, and will be available to stream on-demand on Hulu until the end of June.
