‘I don’t care about being pretty’: Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis hits back after being trolled for her new hairstyle
Married At First Sight‘s Martha Kalifatidis has defiantly hit back after trolls criticised her new, shorter hairstyle.
The 32-year-old said on Tuesday she no longer cared about ‘being pretty’ and was instead focusing on being ‘strong, independent, intelligent and driven’.
She posted three photos of her lighter ‘do on Instagram and said she was surprised ‘a haircut could cause so much commotion’.

’My DMs are flooded with messages about my hair. Literally thousands of you have felt compelled to write to me to tell me your thoughts. So many kind and funny messages and then some that are not so kind,’ she wrote.
The hurtful comments about her hair included: ‘You look so much older, what have you done? Much prettier with long dark hair’ and ‘Have you lost it?’
Martha added: ‘Let’s make this really clear… I don’t give a f**k about being “pretty”.
‘That’s an outdated priority for women. I strive to be strong, independent, intelligent and driven. Keep your “pretty” to yourself and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.’

Martha, who is set to appear on Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice later this year, added that she was ‘more confident than I’ve ever been rocking this new look.’.
’The truth is I never had the confidence to cut my hair or even wear it differently for a long time. The fact that I do now is something I’m really proud of,’ she explained.
Her post comes less than a week after she threatened to shave her head because thousands of fans said they disliked her new orange bob.

She debuted her new look on Saturday, and an Instagram Story poll later revealed many of her followers didn’t like it.
Martha has changed her hair colour several times over the past year. She had dark hair on MAFS, before going blonde and then opting for an orange hue.
