Emma Corrin has donated the stunning gown she wore at the 78th Golden Globes to a charitable raffle on behalf of The Survivors Trust.

The British actress, 25, accepted the coveted award for Best Actress – a reward for her lauded portrayal of the late Princess Diana in The Crown – from home at the virtual ceremony in February.

And her custom designed Miu Miu gown, put together by renowned stylist Harry Lambert, is now available to the highest bidder in order to raise money for the specialist rape and sexual abuse charity.

She told Harper’s Bazaar: ‘It’s a very strange thing, that so much work is put into creating a custom outfit for one evening, albeit an amazing occasion.

‘I wanted the outfit to keep on giving and with the raffle it means that it wasn’t just made for one evening – it will make a difference and give a charity the money it needs to provide crucial help.’

With an oversized white frill collar and puff sleeves – a striking contrast to its black embellished spot maxi dress – the outfit proved to be a fashion high point at a ceremony bereft of its traditionally glamorous red carpet.

Emma’s decision to raffle her custom gown comes amid a growing demand for greater protection of women following the abduction and murder of 33-year old marketing executive Sarah Everard on March 3rd.

The Survivor’s Trust serves as an umbrella company for 124 member agencies across the United Kingdom and Ireland, offering support and therapy to survivors of sexual abuse.

Corrin opted to submit her dress to a raffle rather than auctioning it off in a bid to make it accessible to a wider audience – with tickets available at an affordable £10.

She added: ‘I’ve been aware of the incredible work that The Survivors Trust do for a while now and have wanted to find a way to launch a working relationship with them, to help raise money to fund all the crucial support they provide for survivors.

‘I think that in general our social consciousnesses have been broadened over the past year; the gap between wanting to effect change and making an actual difference has closed.

‘The time to act is now. And especially when it comes to sexual assault and sexual violence, there has never been a more important time to raise awareness of the support survivors need.

‘Calls to their helpline have increased by 174 per cent compared to this time last year, and visits to their website seeking support and information have increased by over 70 per cent in the same time.’

The Survivors Trust CEO Fay Maxted added: ‘We were delighted to be approached by Emma who told us about her idea of raffling the dress she wore to the Golden Globes to raise money to support a charity making a difference.

‘The impact and reach a celebrity can achieve for a cause is massive. One of the biggest problems facing survivors is awareness of the support that is available for them.

‘We often hear from survivors that it has taken them years, sometimes decades, to find out about a local support service offering the specialist counselling they need.’

The raffle draws to a close at 8:00pm on Sunday 28th March, with the winner selected by an online generator.
