Married At First Sight’s latest commitment ceremony sees ratings reach new heights

Ratings for Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight skyrocketed to new heights of 1.12 million metro viewers on Sunday.

The latest commitment ceremony pulled in a national average of 1.417 million viewers (including regional areas), with a peak total audience of 1.817 million.

The controversial social experiment also won in three key advertising demographics across the five major cities, reports Mumbrella.

Married At First Sight was also one of three programs on Sunday to attract more than one million metro viewers.

Seven News pulled in 1.077 million metro viewers, which was slightly ahead of Nine News Sunday with 1.049 million.

Following behind was ABC News Sunday with 654,000 metro viewers and Nine’s 60 Minutes with 589,000.  

Seven’s 7News Presents Ivan Milat: Buried Secrets had 502,000 metro viewers.

Channel 10’s The Amazing Race Australia had 493,000 metro viewers, and ABC’s Grand Designs: NZ had 438,000. 

Overall, Nine scored the majority of the market share on Sunday, with 34.7 per cent.

Seven came in second with 26.3 per cent of viewers, followed by Channel 10 at 15.5 per cent and ABC at 15.2 per cent.

Channel Seven, however, won the 6pm slot with 1.08 million metro viewers.
