Married At First Sight editing fail that PROVES commitment ceremonies are fake – as insider claims the experts are ‘producers’ puppets’

Married At First Sight‘s producers have long been accused of manufacturing drama for the sake of ratings.

And an unfortunate editing fail from Sunday night’s commitment ceremony certainly appears to prove this theory.

Partway through the episode, eagle-eyed fans noticed that relationship expert Mel Schilling was wearing a earpiece in her right ear.

Did you notice it? Married At First Sight suffered an unfortunate editing fail during Sunday night’s commitment ceremony episode when viewers noticed an earpiece in Mel Schilling’s right ear

While the flesh-toned device was hidden for most of the episode thanks to clever camera angles, it became visible on several occasions when Mel turned her head to the side.

Reality stars often wear earpieces during filming so they can receive instructions from producers.

On Monday, a New Idea magazine insider alleged that the experts are ‘essentially producers’ puppets and have to act out scenes, occasionally wear earpieces and do as they’re told.’

Several MAFS stars have previously spoken about the use of earpieces during filming.

In March last year, former bride Hayley Vernon insisted that the experts were fed lines by producers at the commitment ceremonies.

‘The experts don’t speak for themselves. They have an [earpiece] in their ear, and we can hear, because it’s so silent on set,’ she told the Not Here to Make Friends podcast

A week earlier, fellow MAFS star Mishel Karen told the same podcast that she believed Elizabeth Sobinoff was secretly wearing an earpiece during filming.

Mishel claimed that she and Michael Goonan had suspected Elizabeth was wearing an earpiece because of the way she styled her hair for dinner parties and commitment ceremonies.

‘We were just so suss because of the way she wore her hair and she never [normally] wears her hair over that ear,’ she said.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7pm on Nine.
