Married At First Sight’s Jason Engler is spotted shopping in the clearance section of Myer

On a budget? Married At First Sight’s Jason Engler ’embarrassed’ as he shops in the clearance section of Myer for an outfit to wear to the show’s upcoming dinner party

The stars of Married At First Sight are required to look their best at the weekly dinner and cocktail parties.

The show’s brides and grooms are unable to recycle their upmarket outfits, and they are not allocated a budget for wardrobe – leaving some on the hunt for a bargain.

It’s no wonder that groom Jason Engler was spotted shopping for a new blazer and pants at Myer’s Clearance section back in November, for an upcoming dinner party.

The 35-year-old construction estimator tried on several suits before finally making his pick.

At one point, Jason chatted to a tailor from the men’s department, who was picking outfits for him.

According to an eyewitness, Jason was left red-faced when the salesman asked what the special occasion was.

‘Jason was so embarrassed when the salesman asked him what the special occasion was,’ they claimed.

‘Jason didn’t tell them he was on MAFS. He said it was for a formal event and wanted to spend under $150,’ claimed the witness.

Daily Mail Australia understands the cast are required to source their own wardrobe and take photos of each of the dinner party looks ahead of filming.

Those outfits must then be approved by the production team.

Following the 45 minute shop, Jason walked back to his CBD apartment alone.

During the outing, Jason was comfortably dressed in an oversized Lil Wayne t-shirt and red and white basketball shorts.

Married At First Sight continues on Sunday at 7pm on Nine
