Lana Del Rey teases album of country music covers as she promotes Chemtrails Over the Country Club

Lana Del Rey is preparing to drop her seventh studio album Chemtrails Over the Country Club this Friday.

And the six-time Grammy nominee has something pretty different up her sleeve for her next project.

She recently teased a new album of country music covers, as she promoted her new music, revealing that she considers some of her biggest hits to be more country than pop.

The 35-year-old told MOJO Magazine: ‘I went back and listened to Ride and Video Games and thought, “You know, they’re kind of country. I mean, they’re definitely not pop.”

‘Maybe the way Video Games got remastered, they’re pop—but there’s something Americana about it for sure. So let’s see how these things come out—I’m not going to have pedal steel guitar on every single thing, but it is easy for me to write.’

She also teased another album of ‘other folk songs’, while preparing to drop Chemtrails Over the Country Club.

Lana recently leaked a good chunk of her White Dress video on Instagram, showing her rollerblading down a desert highway.

She’s also been enjoying some quality time with fiancé Clayton Johnson, 32, with whom her engagement was revealed in December.

The Summertime Sadness artist recently spent the holidays with his family, telling MOJO: ‘I’m at his parents’ farm, so we’re in the guest house. It’s pretty idyllic: Northern California, pretty cold, 40 degrees and a little fireplace. 

‘We had a sweet little night singing all the old Disney and holiday songs — not what I expected after a long car ride, but everyone was in a good mood.’

It came after eagle-eyed fans spotted an engagement ring on her finger, as she performed Let Me Love You Like A Woman on Jimmy Fallon in December. 

Lana showed off the ring again last month on his birthday, as she kissed her husband-to-be in a steamy mirror selfie on Instagram, which he captioned: ‘Happy birthday to me.’
