Dua Lipa hints at an ‘inevitable’ turn to acting as she reveals she’s reading scripts in a new interview

Dua Lipa is currently one of the hottest pop stars on the planet, but she may soon be transitioning to another art form: acting.

The 25-year-old singer spoke about a number of topics in her wide-ranging interview with The Los Angeles Times on Thursday.

The profile revealed that the singer has been, ‘reading scripts for a move into acting that seems all but inevitable,’ though she wouldn’t comment further.

There were no further details about what kinds of scripts Lipa was reading to make her ‘inevitable’ acting debut.

The news comes after she took home her third Grammy award last weekend, winning Best Pop Vocal Album for her second album, Future Nostalgia.

The album topped the album charts in her native U.K. and was certified gold in the U.S. as well.

She is also a star on social media, with over 61 million followers, as she acknowledges she curates her feeds carefully.

‘There are a lot of eyeballs on my social media. But I’m very much the same person onstage as I am at home,’ she adds.

The singer was supposed to embark on a global tour in support of her album Future Nostalgia, though those plans were canceled due to COVID-19.

She also made headlines last fall with a live stream inspired by Studio 54, which was dubbed Studio 2054, which was a massive hit.

More than 5 million viewers watched the live stream, which included cameos by Elton John, Bad Bunny and Kylie Minogue.

‘I love the spectacle of what was basically a theater production in a nightclub,’ she said of the livestream event.

‘I’ve spoken to Elton John all about it. And Chic wrote a song about not being allowed into the place. That was inspiring to them. So you can only imagine what it was like being inside,’ she said.
