Chris scored the role of teenager Kim Hyde on Home and Away back in 2004 at the age of 20.

During his three year stint on the Channel Seven soap, the hunky actor had his fair share of dramatic storylines.

His character Kim fell in with the wrong crowd at one stage and almost died after overdosing on ecstasy.

After leaving Home and Away in 2007, it would take Chris just two years to crack the US market with a small but significant role as James Kirk’s dad on the J.J. Abrams’-directed Star Trek (2009).

The bit part saw movie makers take notice of Chris, with the actor landing key roles in Thor, Snow White And the Huntsman, Ghostbusters and The Avengers.

He married wife Elsa Pataky in 2010, with the couple going on to have three children – daughter India Rose, and twin sons, Tristan and Sasha.

In 2014 Chris returned to Summer Bay, filming a scene for Home and Away as an extra in the Pier diner.
