Ryan Reynolds live-tweets his FIRST EVER viewing of his 2011 superhero bomb Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds is among the many celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday with his favorite drink of choice, but he’s also adding even more ‘green.’

The 44-year-old actor sat down and watched his 2011 superhero bomb Green Lantern, apparently for the first time ever, to help celebrate both St. Patty’s Day and the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on Thursday.

Reynolds has consistently bashed his own Green Lantern movie for years, taking shots at it in his Deadpool movies and on social media, but it seems he’s never watched the film in its entirety, which he did Thursday with the help of his own Aviation Gin brand.

Green day: Ryan Reynolds is among the many celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday with his favorite drink of choice, but he’s also adding even more ‘green.

‘Excited to see the Snyder Cut. But ahead of its debut – and with the aid of a good amount of #AviationGin – tonight at 6pm EST I’ll do something I’ve never done: actually watch Green Lantern. Happy #StPatricksDay,’ Reynolds said in the first tweet of a rather massive thread.

He also shared a photo for a green drink he calls Lantern’s Light, which is made with 1.5 oz of his own Aviation Gin, 1 oz Apple Pucker, 1/2 oz Lemon Juice and top with ginger ale.

With his drink menu in place, Reynolds then learned that Green Lantern is, ‘apparently the only f***ing movie in existence that’s not streaming anywhere so you’re SOL if you want to watch along. But I’m going deep. #GinnerAndAMovie #AviationGin.’

He even tweeted out a $5 coupon for Drizly for fans who want to make their own Lantern’s Light cocktails.

Once the movie go under way, he tweeted, ‘Starting GL now. First time ever. Too early to ask for a #SnyderCut of this f***er?’

The actor added, ‘I only ever read my parts of the script so this is genuinely exciting for me to watch,’ while joking, ‘This protagonist seems reckless but likable.’

He also gave a shout-out to actor-director Taika Waititi, who played Tom Kalmaku in the superhero adventure, adding, ‘I swear I’m drinking to Grammy winner and international ambassador of joy, @TaikaWaititi. Not to numb any pain I might be in.’

He also joked, ‘Hey @BlakeLively is in this movie!!,’ referring to his wife of nearly eight years, who he met on the Green Lantern set.

Reynolds also shared a snap of his character, Hal Jordan, sharing a moment with Lively’s Carol Ferris, adding, ‘This was not bad foreshadowing for my life as a dad.’

He also shared his love for co-stars Stanley Tucci and Angela Bassett, adding, ‘Honestly, this cast is incredible.’

The actor shared a brief video of him pouring another drink, adding in the caption, ‘Beware my power,’ which is part of the Green Lantern oath.

He also added, ‘Do you have any idea how weird it is to act while being attacked by invisible space energy?’

The actor has consistently bashed the special effects in the movie, though he shared that he kept the ring from the film.

Reynolds went on to share more photos from the film, joking, ‘See if you can spot the CGI, while adding, ‘Goddamn I miss Michael Clarke Duncan,’ who passed away in September 2012, a year after the film’s release.

He also bashed the villain Parrallax, adding he, ‘thought he was so bad. He had no clue 2020 would make him look like a f***ing Beanie Baby. Go back to space, a**hole.’

Reynolds added a GIF of Peter Sarsgaard’s character Hector Hammond hugging Carol at an event, stating, ‘We are all Hector.’

He took another stab at the Green Lantern suit visual effects, adding, ‘They spent 6 hrs each day turning Peter Sarsgaard’s head into an over-inflated beach ball. But the GL suit is a onesie made from old Frogger pixels.’

The actor made a dig at his ‘Christian Bale superhero voice,’  adding, ‘E True Hollywood Story should do a “where are they now” piece on Hector’s mustache. I genuinely wonder what it’s been up to.’

He also joked that Hector threw his father into a ‘giant tornado of fire,’ adding, ‘That’s exactly how my dad died.’

Reynolds added, ‘There’s a lot of heavy hitters in the movie. Not always used in the right way… but still… heavy hitters,’ but when it all was said and done, the experience wasn’t as bad as he thought.

‘Maybe it’s the Aviation Gin talking, but #GreenLantern was nothing to fear! Hundreds of incredible crew and cast members did amazing work — and while it’s not perfect, it ain’t a tragedy. Next time I won’t wait a decade to watch,’ he added.
