Which city is better – Sydney or Melbourne? Hamish and Zoë Foster Blake finally settle Australia’s greatest rivalry – and their answer may surprise you

Hamish Blake and Zoë Foster Blake have settled the argument on the age-old debate of which city is better: Sydney or Melbourne

The former Melburnians, who recently relocated to Sydney’s eastern suburbs, offered a surprising answer to the question.

Speaking to 9Honey on Wednesday, it appears the overall winner is Sydney.

Sydney or Melbourne? Hamish Blake and wife Zoe Foster-Blake (both pictured) finally settled the age-old argument on which city is better with a surprising answer of Sydney

‘Melbourne has great people, Sydney has great people. Melbourne has great food, Sydney has great food. But I think Sydney has to have it for geography,’ Hamish said.

The funnyman added: ‘There’s not a city like it in the world when it comes to the beaches and harbour that become part of your day there.’

The couple recently splashed out nearly $9 million on a mansion in Vaucluse.

Skincare mogul Zoe was recently estimated to be worth $36 million, thanks to her Go-To beauty empire.

Zoe went on to also praise Sydney for its harbour and picturesque beaches.

‘Camp Cove and Nielsen Park for a swim, walking the Hermitage trail, the Bondi to Bronte, these are some of the nature best-ofs,’ she said.

While the pair were happy to spruik Sydney’s natural wonders – they were more than happy to praise Melbourne’s cultural aspects.

The pair spoke of their fondness for the city’s dining scene with Hamish naming Capitano, Chin Chin, Tonka and Attica among his favourites.

Zoe then rattled off her own favourites in the Victorian capital.

‘My favourite food event is always going to be pizza in Carlton (the grandma pie at Capitano) then a huge whack of gelato at Pidapipo, a browse in Readings, then a movie at Nova with a negroni in hand. Oof! Perfection.

‘Also I want to see the Triennial at the NGV and I miss my favourite shops, Filly’s Stable in Albert Park, Grace in Hawksburn and just all of High St, Armadale, really.’

Zoe and Hamish are currently fronting Tourism Australia’s Holiday Here This Year campaign, which focuses on domestic Australian experiences.
