Police launch murder probe after one man is stabbed to death and another left injured in east London

A murder probe has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in east London.
Emergency services rushed to Lea Bridge Road in Leyton shortly after 5pm this evening, where two men were found with knife wounds.
One was pronounced dead at the scene while the other had ‘severe cuts to his hands’.

Witnesses spoke of their shock on social media following the incident, which has seen road closures and bus diversions enforced.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Police were called at approximately 17:20hrs on Wednesday, 17 March to reports of a stabbing on Lea Bridge Road, near the junction with Grove Road, E17.
‘Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. A man, no further details, was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘A second man was found with cuts to his hand and was taken to hospital for treatment.
‘Road closures are in place. Enquiries are ongoing. At this early stage, there have been no arrests.’
