Jennifer Lopez’s World of Dance gets canceled on NBC after four seasons on the air

Fans of NBC’s World of Dance will have to find another place to watch the hottest dance moves this summer, as the show has been canceled.

The network decided not to move on with a fifth season, after a surprisingly uneven fourth season, according to Deadline.

None of the show’s judges – Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo – have responded publicly to the news of the cancellation.

The show had typically been a strong summer performer for NBC, along with other hit reality programs like America’s Got Talent and American Ninja Warrior.

The fourth season debuted in late May, with a slight format change that wasn’t received terribly well.

The early audition rounds were held in a stripped-down warehouse area, with dancers who move on, getting to perform on a bigger and better stage.

The ratings were down significantly as well, with 5 million viewers tuning in for the season premiere, a 20% drop from the Season 3 premiere.

The cancellation shouldn’t be terribly surprising, though, since the writing was seemingly on the wall.

NBC rolled out premiere dates for its summer lineup last week, and World of Dance was nowhere to be found on the lineup.
