‘I know it’s not as good, but it’s the best I can do on short notice. So if you’re a Victorian nurse and you’re free this Thursday night to come and see me perform at the Sidney Myer music bowl, I’d like to shout you and your pals a couple of pods. First in best dressed,’ she added.

‘He gave us quite the fright, I’m book-marking my emotional breakdown for the end of the month,’ she jested.

‘I’m also obviously gonna strap his bike to the roof racks of my car and drive under a low hanging car port… Again…’

She said: ‘The patient is doing well, his heart is being a diva, it’s playing up – irregularities they’re worried about, which can apparently happen after trauma, so they’re keeping him in for tests and stuff. He’s the fittest person I know, so hopefully it’s all OK.’

‘I just want to say thank you to all the nurses, just in general,’ she continued, adding: ‘A lot of nurses follow me, and I wear that as a badge of honour.’

‘Nurses are on the whole, solid humans. You’re not paid enough, and you’re magic, and thank you for looking after my husband. And yes, it could be worse. I am grateful that is wasn’t,’ she concluded.
