Founder of private club and hotels empire Soho House predicts nightlife in cities will roar back after lockdown lifts

The founder of private club and hotels empire Soho House has predicted that nightlife in cities will roar back after lockdown measures lift.

As his firm prepares for a potential £2billion float, Nick Jones said he believes ‘people will go mad’ when restrictions are relaxed.

‘To help them, we’ll have live music every night. There’ll be a real hunger for live stuff,’ the 57-year-old told The Sunday Times.

Members of Soho House, which Jones founded in 1995 as a club for people in the creative industries, will also be stopped from working for prolonged periods in shared casual areas.

‘We’re dedicating our houses to being social spaces,’ Jones said. The firm is mulling a float in New York but Jones said no decision had been made.

‘It’s not a pressing issue,’ he added.
