Sky Sports Radio presenter Jaimee Rogers prepares to take on the English Channel for Gotcha4Life

Sky Sports Radio presenter Jaimee Rogers is taking on the English Channel to raise $50,000 for charity

She’s currently presenting for Sky Sports Radio.

But Jaimee Rogers has decided to swap her studio and microphone for a chance at doing something incredible – and for a good cause, too.

The 36-year-old is preparing to take on the English Channel in August 2022 to raise $50,000 for Gotcha4Life.

Jaimee chose to raise funds for the not-for-profit – an organisation providing mental health support and lowering suicide statistics – because it ‘really hits close to home’.

‘My mum suffered from mental-health issues while I was growing up, but was open about it – she wanted to break down the stigma,’ she told The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar magazine.

‘Now I have two young sons, and without generalising, I think boys can be particularly bad at speaking about their emotions – which maybe has something to do with why 75 per cent of people who die by suicide are male.’

To prepare for the 35km swim across the English Channel, Jaimee has been taking ice baths and going for swims without wet suits.

The mother-of-two also detailed needing to get used to being stung by jellyfish, just in case it happened on her swim and she needed to push through the pain.

‘Part of what I love about it is that you can’t do anything else at the same time – you have to be completely present. No phone, no distractions, like doing meditation. And it’s made me more creative, more alert, happier, and more present when I’m playing with my kids,’ she told the publication.

When questioned about her decision to go through with the strenuous task, Jaimee said she looked at it positively and as an opportunity to ‘live [life] to the full’.

She went onto explain a lot of people who take part in the English Channel swim go onto climb Mount Everest.

Despite that not being on her cards at the moment, the blonde said it could be ‘the next logical step’ in a few years.
