Gene Simmons lists Beverly Hills mansion for $25 MILLION after renovations

Gene Simmons is back for more after relisting his Beverly Hills mansion for a whopping $25 million.

The legendary Kiss frontman and bassist added $3 million to the asking price after he put the home’s interior through extensive restorations, according to TMZ.

Simmons, 71, previously tried to sell the 16,000 square foot Benedict Canyon mansion for $22 million back in October 2020, though he put extra work into it after it failed to sell.

Higher and higher: Gene Simmons, 71, has relisted his Beverly Hills home for $25 millions after extensive renovations, according to TMZ

Handling the sale are Josh and Matt Altman of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles fame, though neither chose to comment about the relisting.

Source with access to the home told TMZ that it is ‘almost like a miniature KISS museum.’

Of the mansion’s seven bedrooms, four were completely decked out in Kiss gear and memorabilia, which gave it a cluttered look that might have scared off all but the biggest fans of the legendary hard rock group, though the Kiss items weren’t part of the sale.

One bedroom previously looked more like a museum, or even a gift shop, as the walls had been covered with glass cases full of Kiss gear.

The was even a glass table with simple chairs behind it, giving it the appearance of a merchandise table at a concert.

The room was decked out with ceiling-hung speakers to blast Kiss tunes, and the flooring-to-ceiling windows at one end of the long bedroom were framed on either side by the band’s gold and platinum records.

But after the extensive cleanup, the room achieved a peaceful, almost Zen-like quality.

Now the bedroom has an actual bed, and the removed cases allowed for luxurious natural lighting to enliven the space on a sunny day.

There’s also a pleasant seating area off to one end that would be perfect for reading a book or relaxing with friends.

But not all of the changes were related to the band’s memorabilia.

The living room area already boasted plentiful natural lighting thanks to its tall window doors, but Simmons changed up the furniture and layout to create more space with a minimalist vibe.

Instead of a large ottoman and multiple smaller tables, the bassist spread out to simple beige sofas with smaller footstool ottomans and a sleeker, more modern coffee table.

He also opened up the room by removing a small table and ottomans in front of one of the doors opening to the backyard, and another door opening out to a covered patio with chairs was also opened up.

Simmons, who hails from New York, is moving to a 24-acre estate in Washington, near Mount Rainier, in order to pay less in taxes compared to California.

‘California and Beverly Hills have been treating folks that create jobs badly and the tax rates are unacceptable,’ Simmons told The Wall Street Journal.

‘I work hard and pay my taxes and I don’t want to cry the Beverly Hills blues but enough is enough.’
