‘Thank you for the wild ride’: Samantha Armytage officially bids farewell to Sunrise in emotional Instagram post… as she thanks her colleagues for giving her a ‘beautiful send-off’

She finished up with Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Thursday.

And just one day on from making her final appearance on the breakfast show, Samantha Armytage has thanked her colleagues and viewers for the ‘wild ride’ over the past eight years in an emotional post. 

Posing with the entire Sunrise team in a photo shared to Instagram, the 44-year-old wrote: ‘Thank you for the wild ride. Thank you for all the love.’

In the picture, Samantha dazzled in a long black dress while standing alongside Sam Mac, Mark Beretta, David Koch, Michael Pell, Natalie Barr and Edwina Bartholomew.

Even her 60-year-old husband, Richard Lavender, was spotted among the crowd.

In separate posts to her Instagram Stories, Sam reflected on her final day as a Sunrise co-host, alongside her husband.

‘How good was Rich on TV?!? So relaxed, kept his coffee cup in hand…’ Samantha captioned a picture of the couple on set. 

Her pet labrador Banjo, who she adopted in 2019, even made an appearance for the special occasion – and was seen blissfully starring at a farewell cake for Samantha.

She announced her resignation live on air on Monday, saying she wanted to step back from TV to spend more time with her family. 

Samantha’s last day on Sunrise was Thursday, but her $800,000-a-year contract with Seven does not expire until October.
