It comes after Amanda paid tribute to Channel 4 drama It’s A Sin on Wednesday by wearing a T-shirt adorned with its famous one syllable exclamation.

The show has won universal accolades for shining a spotlight on the AIDS crisis and its devastating impact on the gay community during the 1980’s and early ’90s, when treatment and social understanding of the illness were limited.

And Amanda, who recently interviewed show star Olly Alexander for Heart Breakfast, referenced the six-part series by stepping out in a white top decorated with the single word ‘La.’

The phrase was used repeatedly by housemates Richie, Roscoe and Jill as a flippant greeting throughout the show, and has since been transposed onto charitable T-shirts designed by Brixton shop owner Phillip Normal.

The tops have so far raised more than £300,000 for HIV and AIDS charity Terence Higgins Trust in their quest to reduce infection rates, and Amanda, 50, was happy to raise awareness for the cause in her latest Instagram post.

Captioning her post, she wrote: ‘#morning #la tee @philipnormal all proceeds to @thtorguk #itsasin.’

Amanda’s post came after she hit out at the government following the announcement last week that frontline nurses would received a one per cent pay rise amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The TV and radio personality shared a series of old photographs of herself in scrubs as she shared a supportive message to frontline medical workers.

Amanda wrote: ‘We clapped them, we praised them, we thanked them. Now let’s bloody show them… the money! B******s to a 1% pay rise!’
