On Monday, Sunrise host Samantha Armytage abruptly quit the breakfast TV show after eight years at the helm.

And on Tuesday, the 44-year-old looked far from happy as archival footage aired of her bungee jumping in New Zealand

In the throwback segment, Sam was seen screaming her lungs out as she was pushed off a platform in a garden chair.

As the archival footage from 2014 rolled, it later cut back to Sam as she sat with her arms folded and a jovially annoyed grin on her face.

‘Why are you bringing back all this trauma,’ she asked co-host David ‘Kochie’ Koch.

‘As you know we were with you and we were going to do it until we saw her. We looked at each other and went ”no freaking way,”‘ he added.

‘That was horrendous,’ Sam chimed-in.

‘That is literally the stupidest thing I’ve ever done. If I had my time again I would tell the producers….It was horrendous.’

Newsreader Natalie Barr interrupted to call Sam a ‘good sport’ about the activity.

On Monday, Sam tearfully announced her resignation live on air, after hosting Channel Seven’s top-rating breakfast show for eight years

‘The time has come for the sun to set on my time at Sunrise. I have always been brave and fearless in my career and this decision is no different,’ she began.

She explained she was leaving of her own choosing, and was looking forward to life away from the spotlight after a ‘bittersweet’ year that included the death of her mother, Libby, and her marriage to businessman Richard Lavender.

Sam’s last day will be Thursday. Her $800,000-a-year contract with Seven expires at the end of the year, and she will take an ‘extended’ leave of absence until then, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

Her announcement follows months of rumours she was preparing to leave Sunrise in order to spend more time with Richard, 60, at his country estate in the NSW Southern Highlands.

While Seven has not yet announced Sam’s replacement, TV Blackbox reports newsreader Natalie Barr will be stepping in alongside co-anchor David ‘Kochie’ Koch.
